Quaking Aspen (Populus tremuloides) Glen Alpine Trail, South Lake Tahoe, California

Developed from the adventitious buds from the parent roots, the roots of aspens often connect together.

I am all in one and one in all, for my roots are connected in the grove.
I like it cool and cold, and before I sleep, I paint the ridges with gold.
