Jeffrey pine and Ponderosa pine are both easily spotted around Lake Tahoe, with similar appearance at first look.
Growing mainly in Sierra Nevada, I am one of the natives of California.
My cone feels gentle in you palm, unlike that of prickly ponderosa.
